Jennifer Love Hewitt is a self-proclaimed “holiday junkie,” so it stands to reason that she married a man (actor Brian Hallisay) who knows his way around a Christmas gift.

“He is a great gift giver, he’s very thoughtful,” the 9-1-1 actress, who was on hand to launch Ferrero Rocher’s “Add Your Golden Touch” campaign, told Parade in an exclusive new interview.

Last year in particular, she continued, “he blew my mind.”

The ’90s icon went on to explain how he found her a piece of vintage jewelry, which she collects, with a very specific and special meaning.

“He found this vintage ring that [was engraved with] my birth date and birth month, but from the year of my mother,” Hewitt recalled. “It was February 21, 1945 and engraved on it was 2-21-45, so it was like we were together somehow, and he found it, and I just melted. It’s just my favorite. I don’t wear it very often because I don’t want anything to happen to it. But it was really just amazing.”

Hewitt’s mother died in 2012, when Hewitt was 33 years old, and the Ghost Whisperer star writes about the gravity of that loss in her upcoming memoir, Inheriting Magic: My Journey Through Grief, Joy, Celebration, and Making Every Day Magical.

The book also chronicles how she and Hallisay met, started a family and “took my mom’s magic and turned it into our everyday magical intention,” she told Parade. Ultimately, the book ends by showing how Hewitt became “The Holiday Junkie.”

“[It explains] why that makes me so happy, and how I use my mom’s magic in my own life every day, and really how it helped me sort of transform the grief that was sitting on my heart to grief that’s now in my heart as I move forward.”

The memoir’s release coincides with the premiere of Hewitt’s Lifetime movie The Holiday Junkie, which she stars in alongside Hallisay, and directs.

“He really had a lot of trust in me,” Hewitt said of their collaboration (she also directed him in an episode of The Client List, the Lifetime series that brought them together more than a decade ago).

“He’s not a Christmas movie guy…he likes Christmas movies, but he doesn’t, like, sit and watch them all on television like I do,” she added. “I watch 40 or 50 a year, if I’m being honest—with my daughter, and we see everything. So he was like, ‘Look, this is your world. This is what you love, tell me what to do here. What does the Christmas Movie Guy do? How’s his vibe?’ and all that stuff. So it was really fun. He put a lot of faith in me. He’s so tremendous in this movie. It just made me so happy. I hope he’s in all the Christmas movies after this one. He’s so dreamy.”
